Blog tour In Harmony by Helena Newbury

Everyone expects her to succeed….
Karen plays the cello like an angel, and it’s the only thing that makes her truly feel alive. But her father’s dream—for her to join a prestigious orchestra—leaves no time in her life for anything but music…not even love. Trapped on her path, she doesn’t know how to rebel.

Everyone expects him to fail….
Connor plays rock guitar like the devil himself, and his ability has got him all the way from a dead-end life in Belfast to a scholarship at Fenbrook Academy. But beneath his arrogance and charm, he doesn’t believe he has what it takes. He’s spent his time in New York drinking and partying, and the only future he sees is a return to Ireland as soon as he flunks out.

But what no one expects….
When Karen’s duet partner is injured, the bad boy guitarist and the shy, sheltered cellist are forced to team up. Neither likes the idea, but what begins as anger and distrust slowly spirals into love…and lust. If they can face up to their feelings, they might just have a chance together. If Connor will allow Karen to stop his fall, maybe he can show her a life she never thought possible....

Welcome to my blog Helena !
Interview with Helena Newbury!!!!
1) Please tell us something about you and about your series Fenbrook?

I'm a New Adult Romance author living in London. The series is set at Fenbrook Academy, a top performing arts college in the heart of New York where dancers, actors and musicians all mix together. Each book focuses on a different couple, but supporting characters recur.

2) How long have you been writing?
Dance For Me was my first book, published in June 2013. But I've been writing on and off for years before that - it was a long time before I had the courage to tackle a novel.

3) Why did you decide to write from two points of view?
Dance For Me is about two people with secrets and I felt it was important to see things from Darrell's point of view as well as Natasha's so we could understand his motivations. In the second book, In Harmony, I wanted the reader to be unsure about how Connor feels about Karen. Getting inside his head would have destroyed the mystery, so it's all from Karen's point of view.

4) Tell us five random facts about you?
I have a thing for fast cars (what we'd call being a "petrolhead" in the UK). I haven't found a way to work that into a book, though. Yet.
I wrote Dance For Me in a coffee shop and wound up wired on caffeine most of the time.
I can't dance, but did start doing dancer's stretches while I wrote Dance For Me and still do today. I credit them with getting rid of my backache.
I'm a massive Starbucks fan, which is why they keep cropping up in the books (yes, there really is a Starbucks in the Pentagon).
I really like Mexican food, but--unlike in the US--it's quite difficult to get good stuff in Britain.

5) Which book was more difficult for you to write and why?
The second one, because it was the second one :) You want to go in new directions to keep things fresh, but you don't want to annoy readers by deviating too much from the first book. It's like the 'difficult second album' for musicians.

6) Which is your favorite book and favorite author?
Ow, don't ask me to pick a favorite. That's cruel. But I'll tell you what I just finished, that I really loved - Going Under by S. Walden. It was superb.

7) Where do you get the motivation to keep writing and doing what you love?
I don't need anything to get me up in the morning and get me writing (well, maybe coffee). It's *not* writing that bothers me. I get cranky and nervous if I haven't written for more than a few days, unless I'm on an actual vacation.

8) Outside of writing what do you do for fun?
I love to travel. I'd like to go back to the US sometime next year and see Vegas, New Orleans, Washington and a few other places. I also run, but I'm not very good at it :)

9) What are you working now?
Now that I've finished In Harmony, next on my list is the Clarissa and Neil story that's coming out in late 2013. It's going to be free, but exclusive to my mailing list so sign up if you want to get a copy - http://list.helenanewbury.com

10) Anything else you want to share with your readers?
I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who bought the first book. It's been a crazy ride--I never expected the level of success that Dance For Me had and it's allowed me to keep doing what I love - so thank you! And thank you Adriana for having me!
